Economical Cloud Storage.
The e-hwVPS uses compression and sparse allocation to maximize the efficient use of the underlying SAS RAID10 storage subsystem. This is completely transparent to the customer and requires no maintenance or tuning on the part of the customer. The compression actually improves storage performance by 200% in most cases and does not noticeably harm performance in the worst case. In the absolute best cases, you can actually see a performance improvement of 2500%! Because the storage related mechanisms return to idle more quickly and the CPU handling the compression is so power efficient, the net effect is an approximate 9% electrical power savings versus not using compression. The hot-swap SAS RAID 10 storage technology allows one or more disks to fail and be replaced with no downtime and no required customer actions.
Built-in Reliability. While this may make use of potentially unstable new technology for some parts of the system, the rest of the system uses time proven reliability technologies to keep down time to a minimum. Two power input breakers.

Performance on Demand.
The e-hwVPS CPU and I/O virtualization is implemented with hardware-based processor
extensions and paravirtualized network/storage drivers for optimal performance. The Xeon processors used in the nodes containing your e-hwVPS are much faster and more powerful than what you would get in a dedicated server for the same money. This extra CPU power can be tapped on demand as you need it. To further enhance performance, the e-hwVPS storage is implemented as real device backed storage. This method provides much better storage performance than file-based
virtual storage found with competing VPS solutions. You automatically get multiple SAS disk RAID 10 performance - far more than you would in a dedicated server for the same money. This extra storage performance is there and ready for when you need it.
Seamless Scalability. For most uses, upgrades probably won't be necessary, but if
your needs increase, upgrades are available that enable more performance and space. The upgrades require no downtime other than a simple reboot of your e-hwVPS for the new parameters to take effect. To obtain the upgrades only requires a few clicks in the billing control panel and our system handles the rest.

Since unmanaged e-hwVPS accounts include
root access, we strongly recommend that you have experience administering a server. While
our expert staff love helping customers learn how to use our services, it is expected that
you have at least a basic familiarity with the concepts involved with running and
maintaining a server when choosing an unmanaged e-hwVPS plan. If you do not know how to
administer a server, please choose a managed e-hwVPS plan.
Disk space available for user storage after
filesystem formatting and operating system installation will vary by operating system
version. Around 1GiB of disk space will be used by operating system files. Swap space on
the e-hwVPS is allocated from your total storage and reduces the total storage available
